Hypovitaminosis D Causing Idiopathic Musculoskeletal Pain in Children

OBJECTIVES To determine the frequency of hypovitaminosis D in children presenting with Idiopathic musculoskeletal pain IMSP). METHODOLOGY The cross-sectional research was carried out at Peshawar’s Hayatabad Medical Complex’s Department Pediatrics. study duration 6 months. comprised 151 patients non-specific who were tested for vitamin levels to diagnose hypovitaminosis. RESULTS age range participants 3 15 years a male predominance 72.8%. sample’s average weight above 25 percentile. Hypovitaminosis found 23.2%. Decreased sun exposure documented 82.85% cases Hypocalcemia, hypophosphatemia and increased alkaline phosphatase 71.4%, 11.4% 42.8% respectively CONCLUSION Is one risk factors but current revealed only 23.2% had inadequate major factor
